Indian Canyon Dam

During the last four months we have been working on a thirty year dream. A dam in Indian Writing Canyon. The canyon is named so because it has numerous ancient hieroglyphics carved into the granite walls. When completed the dam will be approximately 25 meters high and will provide a small lake for reserve water supply and recreation (fishing, boating, skiing, ect) A crystal clear stream of water runs in this canyon ten months out of the year. During monsoon season it can become quite large, so we expect plenty enough water to fill the reservoir. The State government is funding approximately seventy percent of the cost and our community must come up with the rest, otherwise it would be nearly impossible.

On another note.
the monsoon season is officially here, but so far it hasn't rained that much at all. Here's to hoping and praying it will eventually.
